Welcome to my website.

This website is my ever-evolving catalog of past and present projects and products in electronics design, software, and mechanical devices.

Ever-inquisitive from childhood, understanding how to design, build, maintain, diagnose and repair absolutely everything has been a lifelong passion. I was fixing televisions and troubleshooting PCs before I reached my teenage years. By middle school, I had cut my teeth in the world of programming with Microsoft QuickBASIC, making my first videogame demo for a top-down 2D medieval RPG where extensive sword customization was a core focus. In high school, I moved on to experimenting with an IBM PS/2 and a Commodore 128, both plucked from the curb in my home neighborhood and spared from the landfill. After moving on to college, I uncovered a latent love for vintage European cars, buying a Porsche 944 for $1200 and spending every spare minute learning about internal combustion powertrains and teaching myself automotive maintenance and repair.

Finally, years after graduating from the University of Michigan with a degree in the arts and working in automotive news media, I decided to return to school for a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, graduating and founding a small company to commercialize the very lab-grown free-space optical communications technology that I worked on as an undergraduate research assistant. (Check out SpectraLux, LLC here.) Between a fanatical interest in FDM/3D printing, a course in TIG welding, years of practice in 3D CAD, and more recently, and an interest in desktop CNC engraving and machining for producing low-volume PCBs and small aluminum parts, I am still passionate about understanding how to design, build, and repair absolutely everything. And I learn a little bit more every day.
